The Installation and User's Guide for Receivers
Installing the Receiver Application
NOTE: The Receiver application is a program that runs on the Receiver's computer that indicates when a Caller is calling.
  1. Every registered Receiver can download a copy of the Receiver's software from here
  2. Download this file in a new directory called 'callsite'
Click on Start - Programs - Windows Explorer, find the new Callsite directory and doubleclick on 'setup.exe' to start the installation process.
  3. The installer locates the Java virtual machine. Choose the virtual machine you wish to use. In most cases, choose the default value.
  4. The installer will attempt to locate a web browser on the Receiver's machine. In the event that multiple browsers are found, one must be selected to be used for meeting with Callers.
  5. The Receiver will then be prompted for a CallSite Username and Password, as well as his Full Real Name.
Please use exactly the same Username, Password and Full Real Name as registered with ETN to ensure proper set up of the calling functions.
You find this information in ETN's Confirmation Email.
Username, Password and Full Real Name are case-sensitive!!
  6. The Receiver will be asked if the Receiver application should be started at every login. Answering yes is highly recommended, unless there is a specific reason for answering no.
  7. The Receiver application is then installed on the Receiver's computer, and you can start receiving calls.
  8. Once the Callsite Pager is installed, you can check and edit your settings by clicking in Callsite Pager on File - Options - Pager Options
If the Receiver chooses to have the Receiver application automatically start at every login, no further steps are necessary to run the application. To start or restart the application manually, click on the Windows Start menu and choose "Callsite Pager".
Receiving Calls With The Receiver Application
There are two checkbox fields that the Receiver can configure from within the Receiver application.
  1. The first checkbox ensures that an Receiver using a dial-up connection is able to receive calls correctly, since dial-up users have a different IP address each time they connect to the Internet. When this option is enabled, it ensures that the CallSite server can locate the Receiver. In most cases, dial-up users will want to check this box. NOTE: If you have a dial-up connection and are having trouble receiving calls when this box is checked, it may be due to the specific configuration of your dial-up connection. Unchecking this box may resolve the problem although you will not receive automatic notification of new voice messages.
  2. The second checkbox allows you to reject all incoming calls automatically, essentially turning off the Receiver without closing the program. If you check this box, you will be given a text field where you can enter a message that will automatically be sent back to the Caller who called you informing why you are unavailable.
When a Caller calls you, the Receiver application pops to the top of all open windows and plays an audible alarm to let you know that you have an incoming call. The application displays the name of the person who called you and a message from them if they provided one. You have the option of either accepting or rejecting their call.

If you reject the call, you are given a text box to enter a message to be sent back to the Caller. Unlike the text box you used to automatically reject all calls, the value entered here will be sent only to the user who is currently calling you.

If you accept the call, both you and the Caller will establish communication via the CallSite applet appearing in your web browser.
IMPORTANT If you are asked by your computer WHICH communication mode to install, please select 2

Establishing Voice and Text communication with your Caller
  1. Once the applet is loaded in your computer, you will enter the Text Chat Room automatically.
  2. As soon as the caller is in the same room, you can start a text chat.
  3. To establish voice communication with a caller,
    • Click on People in the right column
    • Select your caller's nickname in the popup-screen
    • Click on Private and Close
    • Click on Voice
    • As soon as Ready appears, click on Ready to talk
Broadcast Messages
Receivers should be aware that CallSite allows ETN to send out broadcast messages to all Receivers that currently have their Receivers turned on. Broadcast messages automatically pop up to the top of all your open Windows. After reading the message, click "OK" to close the window.
